A Message from our President, Irving Chung


To My Fellow AAF Madison Members - Welcome to a new program year for AAF Madison. We have recently added several new members to our Board of Directors and I am proud to say all of us are fully engaged and excited to make this a fantastic year. We have been very busy gathering input from members and developing plans for delivering all of the benefits and services you expect of AAF-Madison. 

Given the state of our economy, however, you will see some changes in the business practices of AAF-Madison over the next several months.  Because of the current climate we will be looking at cost cutting measures and seeking new sources of income to supplement the programs and benefits you expect. We will ask you to attend our events and support our future and we will ask you to come forward with any new initiatives or help that you can offer the club. The leaders of AAF-Madison are looking at new strategies for making the club more relevant and valuable to our members.

This year we will continue to host many events that answers your requests for more quality programming, more networking opportunities, and more ways to be involved in this important and vital industry.  We hope that you will be able to attend our ADDY Awards – which we have big plans for this year.  We remain committed to providing you with additional programs, events and networking opportunities to help achieve your business goals. In fact, this year we have added a Social and Networking Committee that is dedicated to developing more fun and productive opportunities to meet and interact with other club members.

We need to support each other. We know that in the face of these economic times, now more than ever, you will want to remain connected with your colleagues, continue to be involved in how our business is ever-changing and be a part of the collaboration of advertising professionals who will safeguard and grow our industry.  We have seen across the country that when times are tough, other AAF ad clubs are prospering.  Why? Because members want and need to stay connected.  To be sure they know what is happening in the industry at both the local and the national levels.  We are the water cooler for our business.  So now more than ever is the time to come together.

Now more than ever, the ad club is the place to be.  It is the place to learn from one another, to share ideas, to help our community grow.  It is from our connections and our collective talent, wisdom and commitment that our industry will grow.  So often we say, “Why should I get involved, what’s in it for me?” There is a lot in it for you.  If we all come together to work on what is important, to help add to the work and goals of AAF-Madison, you will be the benefactor of all the hard work. Now more than ever is time for you to be involved.  Now more than ever is the time to come together, to be connected, and to find out what our advertising community is doing. Now. More than ever you need to get involved!
