KEYNOTE
"The Podcasting/Social Media Revolution"
Podnetic.com president Chaz Rough's podcast YOGAmazing has over 8 million downloads. He has developed online new media initiatives for Target, SONY, Columbia Records and Entertainment Weekly. He's been featured in Billboard magazine and Wired.com and has even performed musically at the White House. He'll explain how to use podcasts for marketing magic and how to develop a social media campaign that will deliver results.

SEMINARS
"Advertising Improv"
Andy Wallman, Matt Solomon, Sean McKenna and D.P. Knudten are all superstar creators at Madison advertising agencies. They also all have a strong background in improvisational comedy and stand-up. Is there a link? Find out how improv techniques can help your creative ideas.

"Smashing Alphabets with Chank Diesel"
Chank.com's Chank Diesel explores fonts in action and case studies of how custom fonts help create great brands. Hear about the fonts and follies of a full-time, self-employed creative visual artist. It'll be as fun as his website.

"Social Media Marketing" Jason Weaver, founder of Sway Marketing, will show you the tools and strategies to immediately launch a social media marketing campaign. He'll talk about social media success stories, tactics and techniques you can start using right away. His clients include Wrigley, Allstate and Fiskars.

2009 ADDYs

The 2009 Madison ADDY Awards show is now just a sweet moment in history. But what a fun moment it was! The more casual atmosphere seemed to be a crowd-pleaser, and many of you told us after the show that you preferred the format this year. Glad to hear it!

All the gold winning work (and silvers that requested it) has now been forwarded to District. Winners of that competition will be automatically forwarded to National. Winners should be announced by early April.

Two final pieces of housekeeping.
1) All non-winning work is being stored at Radlund Photography (4704 Pflaum Road). If you want your work back, please pick it up on between 1:00 and 5:00 pm on March 11th, 12th or 13th. After March 13th, any work still at Radlund Photography will be recycled.

2) If you'd like to order duplicate copies of your award certificate, use the order form enclosed with your certificate, also found online here.

And that wraps up our communications from ADDYs 2009. Start eyeballing your work now for 2010...you definitely want in on the excitement that was palpable in this year's awards show. Huge congratulations to all the winners, but especially to Best of Show winner Knupp & Watson for their activism kit "They Killed 8000," and also to Ted Knupp, winner of this year's prestigious Silver Medal award.

A Message from our President, Tom Keeler - March 2009

Congratulations to all our 2009 ADDY Award winners, the 2009 Silver Medal Award recipient Ted Knupp and kudos to the ADDYs Committee including all the volunteers for organizing such a great event. The feedback we received about the change in format was nothing but positive, and I commend ADDYs Chair Liz Stroud for taking a risk on an entirely new format. Believe it or not, work has begun already for the 2010 show.

With spring at our doorstep, we are well into another successful year of AAF Madison, and it is time to begin recruiting members to serve on the Board of Directors. If you are interested, please contact Executive Director Michelle Kussow or me to express your desire. More information about the upcoming Board of Directors vacancies and terms is forthcoming.

As most of you know, AAF Madison has made fighting the repeal of the tax exemption for advertising services its top legislative priority.
