June Meeting 2017
On Monday, June 19th our guest speaker was Sarah Klavas, from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. Sarah presented a Wisconsin Success Story and shared the importance of tourism as an economic driver for Wisconsin and also shared the Summer Marketing Campaign.

May Networking Scavenger Hunt Meeting 2017
On Monday, May 22nd we hosted a Networking Scavenger Hunt. Our members and guests were armed with their "list" to seek out other business professionals, share and gather information with opportunities to win great prizes. We made new contacts and acquired leads and customers while making new friends at this unique event. We also honored our past AAF Madison Presidents, elected our 2017-18 Board of Directors and unveiled the Lois Weiland Excellence in Service Award.

5th Annual AAF Madison Trivia Party presented by WMSN Fox 47

We had a fantastic night of Trivia on Thursday, April 27 at Wisconsin Brewing Company. Twenty-Five Teams competed for amazing prizes. Thanks to the cheer crews that came out as well for the event. If you missed the event, watch for this annual networking event next year so you don't miss the fun. Rounds consisted of Advertising, Pop Culture and Wisconsin questions.

April Meeting 2017
On Monday, April 24th our guest speaker was Micholyn Fajen from PCG Marketing. Micholyn presented SEO: The Changing Tide. Micholyn shared how SEO delivers data-driven evidence for our marketing and advertising promises in a time when the demand to measure everything continues to grow fiercely strong. We took a look at many performance indicators and how to make changes to improve our SEO results. We also reviewed social media engagement and how it effects SEO.

March Meeting 2017
On Monday, March 20th our guest speakers were
Paula Weisenbeck & Adam Craw from Carmichael Lynch presenting A Brand Built on Love: How Subaru has connected beyond products to create a true emotional bond with people. Paula and Adam shared their strategies on creating successful campaigns for some of their most prestigious clients. We explored the strategy behind Subaru's "Love" Campaign to show how they achieved their client's unique communication goals. They also discussed the strategy and communication goals of the Subaru "Bucket List" TV spot that won a National ADDY and their recent National Parks Campaign that also won a Gold ADDY and a Cannes Lion.

American Advertising Awards
The AAA Show was held at Union South-Varsity Hall on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Thank you to those of you that entered the American Advertising Awards this year and congratulations to our winners! We hope you enjoyed connecting with friends and colleagues who are leaders in advertising, viewing the amazing work on display and watching the show production from WISC-TV showcasing creative excellence. Networking with AAF Madison & Friends
On Thursday, January 26th we enjoyed an evening of casual networking fun at The Great Dane Hilldale. It was great to catch up with like-minded professionals in the Madison area and make some new contacts.

January Research Media Panel
On Monday, January 9th we held a Research Media Panel with experts from comScore, Nielsen and Geopath. Panel representatives (Nancy Beall-comScore, Scott Fiaschett-Geopath & Kelly Abcarian-Nielsen) educated us on the services that their companies provide and presented their methodology for measuring media in the Madison DMA. Annual Joint Holiday Networking Party

On Thursday, December 8th, Ad 2 Madison hosted the Annual Joint Holiday Networking Party at The Rigby Pub & Grill. We enjoyed appetizers, drink specials, raffle prizes and great holiday cheer with friends and colleagues. Participating organizations included: AAF Madison, Ad2 Madison, AMA and AIGA.

November Meeting 2016
On Monday, November 21st our guest speaker was Erica Hanna from Puke Rainbows. Erica presented How to Maximize Content Production & Avoid Wasting Time. Check out Erica's blog including videos: Maximizing Video Content. We learned: How video content intersects with social media, inbound marketing & PR, reviewed examples from pros who are doing it right and tips from professionals to help maximize your content. Erica is a six time Emmy-award winning "Preditor" (Producer/Shooter/Director/Writer/Editor), Speaker, and Content Strategist. After spending 9 years in the creative department at WCCO-TV, she was brought on board at BringMeTheNews.com at the Director of Digital where she helped quadruple website traffic in just 10 months. Now...her company, Puke Rainbows (www.pukerainbows.com) specializes  in leading workshops for businesses looking to "up" their video game, consults with organizations needing guidance for content teams and structure, and handles high end video production spanning from commercial work to social microcontent.

Second Harvest Foodbank Volunteer Event 

On Wednesday, November 2nd AAF Madison and friends volunteered at Second Harvest Foodbank. Volunteers are absolutely vital to the efforts of Second Harvest Foodbank to end hunger in southwestern Wisconsin and we appreciate all of the volunteers who helped make this a successful event. Afterwards, we went to Waypont Public House for dinner, drinks and great conversation.

October Meeting 2016
On Monday, October 17th our guest speaker was Bob Farnsworth from Hummingbird Productions. Bob presented The Future is FUSIC. Farnsworth and his team at Hummingbird Productions have recently developed the concept of “FUSIC” (the fusion of film and music), a natural extension of his musical background. With a message largely based on his 2014 TEDx Talk, he now travels nationwide, spreading the news with his presentation. We learned; the psychology behind our perceptions of sound and music in commercials, examples of how much more successful a commercial can be when Audio and Video are on the same page from the beginning of production, the future of consumer consumption of advertisements and media; what's going to sell and not going to sell. Hummingbird has composed or arranged literally thousands of commercials including such well known ad songs as “Always Coca-Cola”, Wrigley’s “Double Your Refreshment” and "I Wish I Were an Oscar Meyer Wiener". With numerous Clio awards, including the Clio Hall of Fame “Budweiser Frogs”, their composers have also written original music for virtually every type of music venue. This is also a special meeting as our Foundation Trustees will presented checks to the 2016 Scholarship Recipients.

September Meeting 2016

On Wednesday, September 21st our guest speaker was John Kreicbergs, General Manager of App Development for Propaganda3 Kansas City. John offered an engaging presentation breaking
down the design, execution, launch and analytics behind the award-winning Boulevardia festival app, the critically acclaimed kids interactive comic app Kung Fu Robot, and others. We learned about key processes and philosophies that make mobile apps work for both utility and entertainment, the latest and greatest stats and info behind app engagement and use, how to determine if an app is truly a fit for your brand’s marketing efforts, what tools and platforms you should consider when it comes to building your app, key metrics to monitor after you’ve launched and started to market your app and much more!

Summer Party 2016
On Tuesday, August 16 we enjoyed a fantastic time at our AAF Madison Annual Summer Party at Capital Brewery in Middleton. Thank you to so many of you who joined the event and had fun with our raffle.
