AAF Madison 2018-19 Speaker Series: September 
On Monday, September 17th our guest speaker was Genia Stevens from Belwah Media. Genia presented How To Use Community-Driven Media And Storytelling Events To Attract Donors To Your Nonprofit. We learned how nonprofits can use community-driven content developed by members of their local communities to build relationships that encourage consistent donors for their organizations.

Summer Party 2018
On Thursday, August 16th we enjoyed a fantastic time at our AAF Madison Annual Summer Party at Capital Brewery in Middleton. We also announced that Andrea Barber is the 2018 recipient of the Lois Weiland Excellence in Service Award. Read more about Andrea and the The Weily Award here. June Meeting 2018
On Monday, June 18th our guest speakers were Dick Knapinski and Amy Reese from Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). Dick and Amy presented a Wisconsin Success Story: How to invite 500,000 of your closest friends to Oshkosh. EAA AirVenture is the world’s largest fly-in convention and one of Wisconsin’s crown jewels of tourism. It attracts a half-million people from 80 countries and 10,000 airplanes to Oshkosh each summer. It also has an economic impact of more than $170 million each year for the five counties in the Fox Valley, and even more through the rest of the state. We learned how they market to a diverse audience, utilize multiple media formats and engage visitors as brand evangelists.

May Meeting 2018
On Monday, May 21st our guest speaker was Lori Gibson from UnityPoint Health Meriter. Lori presented Best Practices in Professional Networking. Lori guided us through an interactive session that put our new skills into action. We forged meaningful connections with other members and guests of AAF Madison, and walked away with new skills and confidence to thrive in any networking situation. This was also our Annual Meeting and we elected the 2018-19 Board of Directors. We also recognized past AAF Madison Presidents for their contributions to the organization. To top it off, we celebrated 30 years of the Madison Advertising Federation Foundation! MAFF has awarded 150 scholarships to students over the past 30 years totaling $138,750.

6th Annual AAF Madison Trivia Party
We had a fantastic night of Trivia on Thursday, May 3rd at Wisconsin Brewing Company. Twenty-One Teams competed for amazing prizes. If you missed the event, watch for this annual networking event next year so you don't miss the fun. Rounds consisted of Advertising, Pop Culture and Wisconsin questions.

April Meeting 2018
On Monday, April 16 our guest speaker was Karl Sakas, Sakas & Company. Karl presented Don't Just Make the Logo Bigger: How to Satisfy Your Most Demanding Clients. Karl helped us learn how to understand what clients really want from you… even when they have trouble communicating. A simple yet powerful process to say “no” when clients want you to say “yes.” Karl also shared great resources and tools to help you gain powerful intel to prevent problems before they start.

March Meeting 2018
On Monday, March 19th our guest speaker was Steve James, Stream Creative. Steve presented Driving Inbound Marketing Results in 2018. Steve helped us learn how to build a successful integrated inbound marketing plan that not only gets results, but allows you to prove those results to your clients, your boss and your sales team. We also learned how to identify and define the buyers you want to attract and free and paid online tools that can help companies effectively and efficiently execute an inbound strategy and measure the results of their efforts. The American Advertising Awards (ADDYs)
The ADDY Show was held at Union South-Varsity Hall on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Thank you to those of you that entered the American Advertising Awards this year and congratulations to our winners! We hope you enjoyed connecting with friends and colleagues who are leaders in advertising, viewing the amazing work on display and watching the show production from WISC-TV showcasing creative excellence. January Meeting 2018
On Monday, January 22nd we hosted our annual media round table What's New in Local Media. Our panelists included Steve Scadden - WISC TV, Shan Roth McConnell - Spectrum Reach, Chad Plageman - Adams Outdoor Advertising /Fairway Outdoor, Joe Daguanno - Midwest Family Broadcasting, Tom Johnson - Wisconsin Newspaper Association and Jon Konarske - In Business Magazine. Our panel of local media representatives answered questions and shared opportunities that exist right in our backyard for Print, TV, radio and outdoor. We also announced our 2018 Silver Medal Award Recipient, Sara McCormack and honored past Silver Medalists at this meeting.

AAF & Ad2 Madison Holiday Party 
We enjoyed a fantastic evening celebrating the holidays with colleagues and friends on December 12th at Me & Julio from 4-7 pm. Our guests enjoyed delectable appetizers, tasty drinks and great company. Thanks to those of you who joined in on the fun with AAF & Ad2 Madison.

November Meeting 2017
On Monday, November 20th our guest speaker was Mike Pilarz, from LinkedIn. Mike presented Demystifying Content Marketing. We learned the top mistakes content marketers are making and how to avoid those pitfalls and how to create a framework for valuable content with a sound distribution strategy vital for building an audience.

Second Harvest & Waypoint Public House
On Wednesday, November 1st we had a great crew of 19 volunteers at our Second Harvest Foodbank annual volunteer event. Volunteers are absolutely vital to the efforts of Second Harvest Foodbank to end hunger in southwestern Wisconsin. After our event, we headed over to Waypoint Public House for networking, food and fun.



October Meeting 2017
On Monday, October 16th our guest speaker was Steve Lance, from PS InSights. Steve presented 50 Trends in 50 Minutes. Steve shared the latest news, the newest ideas, radical and practical thinking that impacts our daily work and long-range strategic development. Our Foundation Trustees shared the history of the foundation and presented checks to the 2017 Scholarship Recipients.

September Meeting 2017
On Monday, September 18th our guest speaker was Ellen Bartkowiak, from Ellen Coaching. Ellen presented Developing Your Personal Brand for Professional Growth. This session offered time to focus on personal branding, review the basic formula for creating our brand, and create a plan to implement it. We also used Ellen's "brand toolkit" to practice articulating our brand and make connections between our personal brand and our current employer and career plan..
